Hand felted handbag – “Cosmos”.  Inspiration taken from a late summer pink/red sunset.  Another original creation from my workroom to you.  Lovely, thick felt in a variety of rich pinks, reds and a variety of textures enhanced by the inclusion of nuno felted embroidered sari silk segments.  The front of the bag is richly embroidered with a variety of threads, silks and textures.  The embroidery took forever and a day to achieve as each thread is carefully placed.  The bag flap has a beautiful edging of beadwork and embroidery for enhanced texture and colour – two elements that are always present in my designs.  The bag flap also has an antique 1950’s brooch attached.  Shisha mirror work has been added too, along with some largish brass bells gently sloping along the front of the bag.  There are no straight lines in my works at all.  The bag is gussetted for added interior space.  The bag strap is sturdy cotton twill weaving and is securely attached onto the bag.  I worked carefully to incorporate sari segments into the felting process so they “disappear” into the finished felt.  I also bead embroidered the front of the bag for added texture and colour.  The bag interior is lined with sturdy black cotton duck.  I also added a simple to use magnetic clasp for your convenience.

DIMENSIONS:

The bag measures approximately 30 x 30 centimetres in size.  The gusset at the bottom of the bag ensures plenty of storage space within.
