Indie Dyed Merino Tops

$20.00

Gorgeous soft roving for weaving, spinning up, felting, knitting or crochet. Australian Merino. Kettle dyed over an entire two days to produce one single cake. Time consuming to design and create which the buyer does not see in reality. Weight is approximately 100 grams. 22 micron. The entire process takes approximately four days in total to create this cake.

This roving is unique in colour and design. This roving batch contains a variety of smaller colour patches with a distinctly “autumnal” palette. The blues are muted and the oranges and caramels are also subdued.

I have photographed both sides of this long sausage so you can see the colourway.

IDEAS:
Spin this roving as it is for longer colour shifts. Split up the roving length ways into thinner strips and spin these up. Match each stripped length or turn each one around to vary the colourway. Cake up the finished spun hank and spin from the outside and center of the ball at the same time to create a 100 gram hank of two ply wool. Consider plying the finished spun roving with another colour of fibre texture. A versatile product.
