Necklace and Earring Set – “Bushland”
AVAILABLE AT: www.theonlineartgallery.com.au
A recent addition to my bead embroidery passion in the jewellery line. “Bushland” took quite some time and a lot of effort to design and manufacture. There is a base of machine embroidery leaves on this piece so as to suggest the leaves on the bushland floor; reminiscent of a time when I drove towards Daylesford one autumn day in a valley that was full of colourful splendour. I have never forgotten that image. “Bushland’s” focal are two large green semi precious Magnesite cabochons and two smaller Sesame Jasper cabochons. Other semi precious stones include semi precious Red Howlite and Brown Agate, plus a range of Aged Picasso coat Czechoslovakian beads and also seed beads. The necklace arms are made up of semi precious Tiger Eye. The clasp is a very easy to use toggle. The backing is black and a beautifully soft Ultrasuede. The earrings are made up of Tiger Eye, Brown Agate and Aged Picasso coat Czechoslovakian beads.
A real design challenge for me but well worth the many hours I spent in creating this unique piece of wearable art.
You will not see another necklace like this as I only make one of a kind designs in my workroom. Recently exhibited in my solo exhibition and also appeared in the prestigious Canadian “Upper Case” magazine.
